IPSC
About IPSC
The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) is the world governing body for practical shooting, founded in 1976. It is active in over 100 countries.
What is practical shooting?
Competitors move through stages, each with its own course of fire, engaging paper and steel targets as fast and as accurately as they can. Your score is hit factor: points divided by time, so accuracy and speed decide it. Ammunition only has to meet a minimum power factor. The IPSC motto is Diligentia, Vis, Celeritas: accuracy, power, speed.
Safety first
Safety is the foundation of the sport. Every match is run by trained Range Officers, and strict safety rules apply to everyone on the range, beginners included. Anyone who breaks them is stopped immediately.
Disciplines
Handgun, rifle, shotgun, pistol-caliber carbine and mini rifle, with divisions for different equipment and skill levels.
